Mr. Mitchell McGeorge – Age 45 – Executive ChairmanMitchell is Managing Director of Berry Capital Group, a specialist natural resources and infrastructure group, with offices in Sydney, Hong Kong, London and Calgary. Berry Capital has a unique and integrated business model, investing as principal and/or partnering with resources and commodity producers at the upstream, midstream and downstream stages of their business chain.
Mitchell has over 25 years experience in global financial markets, with a particular focus in resources, commodities, energy and infrastructure. Mitchell has held senior management and executive positions in capital markets, advisory and trading at some of the world’s leading institutions such as County NatWest Capital Markets, State Bank Victoria, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Merrill Lynch and IAG Asset Management.
An experienced financier, Mitchell has been responsible for a number of capital raisings of amounts up to $1B and is known for strategic thinking as well as for being a strong, effective and disciplined leader. Mitchell also has a great deal of experience in conducting transactions on a number of local and global Exchanges, in particular on the ASX and TSX, and has advised a number of Public companies on North American oil and gas transactions – especially in Western Canada and the Mid-Con region of the US – our focus areas.
Dr. Scott Brownlaw – Age 48 – Executive Director and CEOScott is a Senior Executive with over 20 years experience in the global energy sector including roles as Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director, General Manager and Director of ASX listed companies.
Scott has had significant hands-on experience in the areas of geology and field work, having held positions of Field Geologist, Senior and Chief Geologist at a number of listed companies in a number of geographical locations. He has had specific experience in assessing the particular geological structures that are found in both Western Canada and the Mid-Con region of the US – our two focus areas.
Scott also has significant corporate experience having held Senior Management and Senior Executive positions, most recently as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ASX listed Rawson Resources Limited. Scott rekindled Rawson’s business activities through providing corporate restructure and strategic positioning.
A manager with a strategic focus, Scott is highly educated as a Geoscientist with a particular focus on carbonate sedimentology, biostratigraphy and paleontology. He has a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Science – Honors (Geology), Doctor of Philosophy (Geology) and is an Adjunct Fellow at the University of Queensland.
Mr. Victor Dusik – Age 66 – Independent Non-Executive DirectorVick is a Chartered Accountant who has had a long and distinguished career as a Managing Partner at Ernst & Young Canada, as a Public Company Chief Financial Officer and as a Public Company Director in the North American Energy Industry.
Vick worked at Ernst & Young for over 30 years including being Director Business Risk Consulting Western Canada, leading the North American Centre of Excellence for Ernst & Young Risk Management Services to the Electric and Gas Utility Sector. He was also Managing Partner of the Calgary Office including leading over 200 staff in the provision of a broad range of services including audit, taxation, accounting, consulting, business risk, corporate reorganisation, business valuations and acquisitions and divestures with a particular focus on the oil and gas industry.
Vick has also been Chief Financial Officer at Maxim Power Corp and Run of River Power Inc., both listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Vick has also been a Director of the TSX listed Taylor NGL Income Trust as well as the TSX and NYSE dual-listed Equal Energy Ltd, who had significant operations in Western Canada and the Mid-Con region of the US – both our focus areas.
Vick has qualifications in Chartered Business Valuer, Chartered Accountancy, MBA and ICD.D. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and Manitoba, Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuers and Institute of Corporate Directors.
Mr. John Reader – Age 59 – Independent Non-Executive DirectorJohn is a Registered Professional Engineer (APEGA) and a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) with over 37 years of resource industry experience in the North American Oil and Gas Industry, in particular Western Canada and the Mid-Con region of the US. He has held positions in the fields of exploration, engineering (reservoir and operations), business development and financing with various Senior and Executive management roles.
John spent a number of years as Chief Operating Officer of Equal Energy Ltd, a Toronto and New York Stock Exchange dual-listed company, with oversight of more than 100 staff and production of 16,000 BOE/day. Equal Energy had operations in both Western Canada and the Mid-Con Region of the US – our focus areas. John was also Manager of Business Development Chevron Canada, responsible for Chevron Canada’s oil and gas ventures including screening, evaluation, acquisition and diversification of numerous multi-billion dollar projects.
John has a Bachelor in Applied Science in Geological Engineering (Geophysical) and also has an MBA (Finance). John brings a long history of direct operational and management experience in oil and gas exploration, development and production in Western Canada and the Mid-Con area of the US – our two main focus areas.
